Years after the breakthorugh that was Dolly the sheep, now comes news from north China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, that the world’s first cloned goat bearing the superfine cashmere wool was born.

The Cashmere fibre from the goat is less than 13.8 micrometers thick, much finer than the average of 15.8 micrometers grown by the famous Erlang Mountain goats in Inner Mongolia, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

The goat will be raised in a base for animal husbandry research to be conducted by experts from various universities etc.
