The Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute was established by Government of India on February 3rd 1947 under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and later it joined the ICAR family in 1967. During the course of over 65 years the Institute has emerged as a leading tropical marine fisheries research institute in the world.

Educational Qualification/Work Experience:
Essential: M.Sc. in Zoology, Biotechnology and Fishery Science
Desirable: Preference will be given to the candidates having 1-3 years of experience in crustacean fisheries and practical knowledge and handling experience of shrimp biology.
Nature of the post and duration of the post: Purely temporary on contract basis for a period of 12 months and extendable to a maximum of 2 years based on the needs of division and performance of the candidate.

Age limit: 35 years (Age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and Women and 3 years for OBC)
Emoluments: Rs. 15,000/- per month (consolidated).
