University Research fellowship Post @ Periyar University in the Department of Biotechnology
The Government of Tamil Nadu established the Periyar University at Salem on 17th September 1997 as per the provisions of the Periyar University Act, 1997. The University covers the area comprising the districts of Salem, Namakkal, Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri. The University got the 12(B) and 2f status from the University Grants Commission and has been reaccredited by NAAC with ‘A’ grade in 2015. The University is named after the Great Social Reformer E.V.Ramasamy affectionally called ‘Thanthai Periyar’.

Eligibility: Candidates who have passed the Post Graduate degree of this University or of any other University in Tamil Nadu to have obtained a minimum 55% of marks in their respective subject. However, the minimum eligible marks to have obtained SC/ST Candidates is 50%
Duration: Two years.
Stipend: Rs. 5,000/- per month with Contingency of Rs. 5,000/- per year for URF.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
- Application form can be obtained from the Registrar by sending a crossed Demand Draft for Rs.200/- (SC/ST candidates are eligible to have one application at free of cost) drawn in favour of The Registrar, Periyar University, Salem-11, payable at Salem with a self addressed envelope (25cmx12cm) stamped to the value of Rs.40/- An attested copy of permanent community certificate and PG provisional certificate or degree certificate or mark statement of all the semester are to be enclosed.
