The Government of India vide Resolution No.8/136/68-P.I (Pers.I) dated 28.08.1970 formally established the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), under the Ministry of Home Affairs giving a new orientation to then existing Police Research and Advisory Council (1966) for the following reasons and with the primary objective of modernization of police force:
The Bureau of Police Research & Development is proposed to fill up the following
posts in BPR&D cadre :
Position 1
Name of the post : Senior Scientific Officer (Life Science Branch)
Scale of Pay : PB-3 Rs.15600-39100/- plus Grade Pay Rs. 6600/-
Ministry / Department : MHA, BPR&D
Eligibility : Deputation
Officers of Central Government or Central Police Organisations or Central Armed Police Force:
(a)
(i) holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre/department;
OR
(ii) With Five years’ service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in the posts in Pay Band-3 Rs. 15600-39100 with Grade Pay of Rs. 5400
(b) Possessing the following educational qualifications and experience:
(i) Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Molecular
Biology or Biochemistry or Zoology or Botany or Microbiology or Forensic Science as a subject from a recognized university.
(ii) Five years’ experience in Examination of Biological/Serological/DNA evidence material in
Central Police Organisations or in Central Government or in Armed Forces.
Desirable:
(i) Master’s Degree in Molecular Biology or Biochemistry or Zoology or Botany or Microbiology or Forensic Science from a recognized university.
(Period of deputation including period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization/department of the Center Government shall ordinarily not exceed four years. The maximum age limit for appointment by receipt of application).
Position II
Name of the post : Senior Scientific Assistant (Life Science Branch)
Scale of Pay : PB-2 Rs.9, 300-34,800/- plus Grade Pay Rs. 4200/-
(likely to be revised)
Ministry / Department : Bureau of Police Research & Development, New Delhi under BPR&D cadre.
Eligibility :
Deputation
Officers of Central Government or Central Police Organisations or Central Armed Police
Forces:
(a) (i) holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre/department;
OR
(ii) With five years’ service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular
basis in the posts in Pay Band-2 Rs. 9300- 34800 with Grade Pay of Rs. 4200 or equivalent in the parent cadre/department; And
(b) Possessing the following educational qualifications and experience:
Essential:
(i) Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Molecular Biology or Biochemistry or Zoology or Botany or Microbiology or Forensic Science as a subject from a recognized University.
(ii) Two years’ experience in examination of biological/ serological/ DNA evidence material in Central Police Organisations or in Central Armed Police Forces or in Central Government or Armed Forces.
Desirable:
Master’s Degree in Molecular Biology or Biochemistry or Zoology or Botany or Microbiology or Forensic Science from a recognized University.
NB : The number of vacancies is subject to change. Those candidates, who have already applied for the post on deputation basis in response to this Bureau’s circular No. 6/13/2015-Ad. dated 21.5.2015 and Employment News advertisement dated 16- 22 May 2015 need not apply in response to this circular.
