Eligibility
55% or equivalent GPA* in Masters or M. Tech in any branches of Agricultural Sciences, Biology, Life Sciences, Bioinformatics and Biotechnology. Students with Master’s degree in Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics having interest in pursuing a career in Biology are also encouraged to apply. Candidates with a 4 year / 8 semester Bachelor’s degree program with a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade are also eligible to apply for the program. (*Conversion note required for GPA-based qualifications. Final-year students can apply with conditions.)
Fellowship
- ₹37,000/- as Junior Research Fellowship; ₹42,000/- as Senior Research Fellowship, subject to academic requirements.
- Externally funded students will follow respective funding agency rules and will not receive NISER/DAE fellowship.

How to Apply?

- Candidates applying to more than one school must submit separate applications for each.
- No application fee is required.
Selection Procedure
- The selection committee will shortlist candidates based on applications submitted by the deadline.
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview, possibly preceded by a written test.
- The selection committee will recommend candidates based on the selection process performance.
- Travel fare reimbursement equivalent to second-sleeper class railway fare is available for eligible candidates.

Important Notes
- Cut-off for national exams will be decided by each School.
- Students with only INSPIRE Doctoral Fellowship, without qualifying national exams, are ineligible.
- GPA/CGPA holders must produce conversion documentation if not included in the mark sheet.
