- B.Sc. (Biotechnology): 3 positions
- B.Sc. (Botany): 3 positions
- B.Sc. (Life Science – Biotechnology/Botany/Microbiology/Bioinformatics): 10 positions
- Monthly Stipend: Rs.9000/- per month
Eligibility
- A Degree in Biotechnology/Botany/Life Science (Regular – Full time) granted by statutory University/Deemed University in relevant discipline – UGC approved.
- B.Sc. passed (in the years 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026 only) and who have registered in MHRD NATS Portal, which is mandatory.
Reservation of Vacancies
Guidelines under Apprentices Act Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD will be followed. The aspirants who are claiming reservation under SC/ST/OBC/PWD shall provide certificate, as per Government standard format, failing which their claim for reservation will be considered as ‘General’ category only. If BC candidates claim in OBC category, they should furnish OBC certificate, as per the Government prescribed (OBC) format from the certificate issuing Authority/Tahsildar (if authorized).
Duration of Training
The duration of Apprenticeship training will be for a period of ONE year as per Apprentice (Amendment) Act 1973.
Previous Training/Experience
Candidates who have already undergone or currently undergoing Apprenticeship under Apprentices (Amendment) Act 1973 or having one year or more experience are not eligible to apply.
Selection Procedure
- Engagement of Graduate and Technician Apprentices will be purely made on merit basis of aggregate marks obtained by the candidates in Graduate and Diploma respectively.
- Preference will be given to the children of VPA Employees i.e. the children of deceased employees/medically invalidated & superannuated employees serving employees respectively.
- The final rank list would be prepared according to categories General/SC/ST/OBC/after certificate verification comprising of ADT BoAT (SR) and Officials ICAR – NRC for Banana, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu.

- Click apply (You can see the status as “applied”).
- Category ‘C’: For students who have not so far enrolled in the National Web Portal

- Complete the application form
- A unique Enrolment Number (ATN …….) 12 digits for each student will be generated after completing the Enrolment
- Last date to Apply: 15.04.2026

Post Apprenticeship
Upon completion of the Apprenticeship period, ‘ICAR – NATIONAL RESEARCH CENTRE FOR BANANA’, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, shall have no obligation to offer employment to such apprentices nor can an apprentice claim right for employment on the grounds of completion of Apprenticeship. (The VPA does not have any liability to provide regular appointment after completion of Apprentice training).
Application Submission
- Incomplete/Erroneous online applications received after due date will be rejected. No further communication in this regard will be entertained.
- Board of Apprenticeship training (SR)/ICAR – NRCB Authority, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu has not entrusted/authorized any individual organization to coordinate (or) liaison on our work. Candidates beware of touts and our office is not responsible for such unwanted incident.
- Canvassing/Pressuring through any source will disqualify the candidature and their name will be removed from our official records without prior intimation and this VPA will not be responsible for such cases.
General Instructions
- Before applying, the candidate should ensure that he/she fulfills the eligibility criteria and other norms mentioned in the advertisement.
- Candidates must write their name as it appears in the educational certificate of Secondary or equivalent examination. In case of change of name at a later stage necessary legally accepted documentary proof is to be submitted at the time of interview.
- Incomplete applications will be rejected.
- Request for change of mailing address/category/discipline/qualification once declared in the online application form will not be entertained.
- Any canvassing or personal follow up with an intention of inducing the process of selection of apprentice by and on behalf of any candidate shall lead to immediate cancellation of candidature.
- The candidates are advised not to fall prey to any touts/agents in any way for this enrolment.
- No boarding or lodging expenses are admissible.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending certificate verification.
