  • Position: Project Associate I / JRF
  • Project Title: In-cell NMR Characterization of DNA G-quadruplexes: Pursuit Towards Understanding Small Molecule Binders and Therapeutics

Project Description

This project involves biophysical characterization of DNA G-quadruplexes using solution-state NMR spectroscopy. The basic focus would be to chart the molecular determinants of biomolecular folding. The project would involve analysis of G-quadruplex conformations using 2D NMR experiments and may involve data interpreting based on other complimentary tools (such as UV-Vis/Circular Dichroism spectroscopy, molecular dynamics simulations, machine-learning approaches). Essential Qualifications

  • BS-MS/M.Sc./MS (or equivalent) in Biochemistry or related disciplines with good academic record (first class/division or minimum CPI of 7.0/10.0).
  • Candidate must have qualified a National Eligibility Test (UGC, CSIR, GATE, etc.) with a valid rank/score at the time of applying for this post.
  • Students from national institutes (e.g., IISERs/IITs/NITs/IISc) with above 8.0/10.0 CPI are eligible without NET qualification.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience/knowledge in NMR spectroscopy, biophysical methods, and computer skills (using Linux and programming).
  • Prior experience in working in a research lab.

Salary

Rs. 30,000 (Net) / Rs. 37,000 (Non-Net)

Duration

1 year and renewable based on satisfactory performance
