The CSIR – Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), a constituent laboratory of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), invites applications from eligible and qualified candidates for the position of Project Associate – II (PAT-II) on a purely temporary contractual basis.
This engagement is under the project titled:
“Development of Highly Efficient Oxygen Scavenger Sachets Using Natural Rubber Silica Composites for Enhanced Food Preservation” (GAP-667).
The position is tenable at CFTRI, Mysuru, Karnataka.

Tenure
The engagement is initially valid up to March 2027 and may be extended up to November 2027 based on project requirements or until project completion, whichever is earlier.
Essential Qualifications
Candidates must possess:
- M.Sc. in Food Science and Technology or equivalent, and
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Research & Development in:
- Industrial or Academic Institutions, or
- Science & Technology Organizations
Job Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be involved in Research and Development activities related to the project.
Desirable Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:
- Food shelf-life analysis
- Food packaging technologies
Eligibility Conditions
- The candidate must not exceed 35 years of age as on 22.04.2026
- Only candidates who have completed their qualifications and received results are eligible
- Experience will be counted after acquiring the essential qualification
- Candidates who have already completed 6 years as Project Staff in CSIR labs are not eligible
Selection Process
- Applications will be shortlisted by a designated committee

Important Terms & Conditions
- The engagement is temporary and co-terminus with the project
- It does not guarantee permanent employment at CSIR-CFTRI or CSIR
- Maximum total engagement across CSIR projects is 6 years
- Candidates currently working in CSIR must provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC)
- Engagement may be terminated at any time based on performance or project needs
- Selected candidates must submit a No Dues Certificate if previously employed in CSIR projects
