About the Role
The Research and Development Manager at Parle Products Pvt. Ltd. is responsible for supporting the development, optimization, and commercialization of bakery products. Key Responsibilities
- New Product Development (Bakery)
- Assists in developing innovative bakery products aligned with market trends, consumer preferences, and organizational goals.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Procurement, Quality, and Production to conceptualize and finalize product formulations.
- Supports improvement initiatives for existing products to enhance quality, shelf life, and cost efficiency.
- Lab Trials & Ingredient Understanding
- Conducts laboratory-scale trials for formulation development, process optimization, and ingredient evaluation.
- Builds a strong understanding of ingredient functionality, including chemical properties and behavior during processes such as emulsification, fermentation, and hydration.
- Analyzes trial results and documents findings to refine formulations and processes.
- Product Costing
- Prepares detailed product costing by evaluating raw materials, packaging, processing, and overhead expenses.
- Optimizes formulations to meet cost targets without compromising product quality and performance.
- Coordinates with procurement teams for cost-effective sourcing of ingredients and materials.
- Plant Trials & Technical Support
- Supports the scale-up of formulations from laboratory to pilot and full-scale production. Provides technical guidance during plant trials to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Troubleshot production issues related to formulations, process deviations, and ingredient performance.
- Works closely with plant teams to ensure successful product commercialization.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Ingredient lists and formulations
- Nutritional information as per regulatory standards
- Product specifications and quality benchmarks
- Prepares and maintains comprehensive product documentation, including:
- Ensures accurate SAP master data creation and updates for new products.
- Supports compliance with food safety standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality systems.
- Ingredient lists and formulations
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of bakery science and ingredient functionality
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Understanding of food regulations and labeling standards
- Proficiency in MS Excel; SAP knowledge preferred
- Effective communication and cross-functional coordination skills
Qualifications
B.Sc. (Tech) / B.Tech in Food Technology.
