The CSIR – Central Food Technological Research Institute (CSIR-CFTRI), Mysuru, a premier national laboratory under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), has invited applications for the position of Project Associate-I (PAT-I) on a purely temporary contractual basis.
The recruitment is for the project titled: “PLA and PBAT-based Biodegradable Polymeric Films with Enhanced Mechanical and Barrier Properties” (MMP035202).
The engagement will be valid up to March 2027 at CFTRI, Mysuru, Karnataka.

Essential Qualifications
Candidates must possess any of the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science & Technology
OR
- Master’s Degree (M.Sc.) in Food Science & Technology
Job Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Carrying out research and development (R&D) work as assigned under the project.
Desirable Qualifications / Experience
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Engineering degree with CIPET Diploma or equivalent
- Hands-on experience in:
- Film extrusion process
- Polymer film extrusion
- Twin extruder operations
- Master’s degree in:
- Material Science / Polymer Science / Plastic Technology
Eligibility Conditions
- Maximum age: 35 years (as on 22 April 2026)
- Candidates must have completed their qualification (final results declared)
- Final-year/awaiting-result candidates are not eligible
- Experience (if required) will be counted after acquiring essential qualification
Age Relaxation
- SC/ST/PwBD/Women: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
Selection Process
- Applications will be shortlisted by a committee
