Position Details
- Position Title: Project Assistant
- No. of Posts: 01
- Project Title: Development of a Rapid Lateral Flow Immunoassay Kit for Screening Anabolic Androgenic Steroids in Nutritional Supplements
- Funding: National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Gandhinagar under Seed Money Scheme (SMS). This position is purely on a temporary basis.
- Engagement Period: Initially for 12 months (can be extended as per the project requirement)
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in research activities related to the development of a lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA) kit for rapid screening of anabolic androgenic steroids in nutritional supplement matrices.
- Support sample collection and preparation of nutritional supplement products for laboratory analysis.
- Perform preliminary screening tests and assist in optimizing assay conditions.
- Assist in laboratory experiments related to reagent preparation, extraction procedures, and sample clean-up protocols.
- Compile, organize, and manage scientific data, including maintaining laboratory notebooks and digital databases.
- Perform statistical analysis and data interpretation to support assay development and validation studies.
- Support field activities, including nationwide sample collection and documentation of field data.
- Assist in regulatory and literature review and prepare technical reports and documentation.
Qualification
- Minimum Eligibility: Master’s degree in Forensic Science with specialization in Forensic Biotechnology, Biotechnology, Food Technology, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Desirable: Understanding of FSSAI regulations and nutritional supplements. Knowledge/experience with lateral flow immunoassay will be an added advantage. Proficiency in computer operations, software applications, and data management.
Monthly Remuneration: Rs. 20,000/-
