Project 1: Barnyard Millet Improvement (GAP102)
- Project Title: “Genomics-assisted improvement of Barnyard Millet for enhanced yield and processing efficiency: Towards developing a nutrient-rich crop for a changing climate.”

A. Research Associate I (01 Position)
- Duration: Purely temporary for 1 year, extendable based on research progress and performance.
- Essential Qualification: Ph.D. in any branch of Life Sciences or Biotechnology with at least two peer-reviewed international publications in SCI journals.
- Desirable Experience: Enthusiastic candidates interested in crop genetics and genomics.
- Technical Skills: Experience in GWAS, QTL analysis, NGS data analysis (genome sequencing & assembly), and large-scale phenomics.
- Responsibilities: Handling sequencing, phenotyping, bioinformatics analysis (variant calling), GWAS, and manuscript preparation.
- Emoluments: ₹58,000 per month plus HRA.

B. Project Associate (01 Position)
- Duration: Initially for one year, continuing until project completion subject to performance and funds.
- Essential Qualification: Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Agricultural Science, Biotechnology, or allied subjects.
- Optional Qualification: Selection through National Level examinations like CSIR-UGC-NET or GATE is also accepted.
- Desirable Experience: Experience in large-scale field phenotyping and basic molecular biology (DNA/RNA isolation, PCR).
- Responsibilities: Assisting in DNA isolation, QC, field experiments, data collection, and multi-institute coordination.
- Emoluments: ₹31,000 + HRA (with NET/GATE) or ₹25,000 + HRA (without NET/GATE).
- Age Limit: 35 years.
C. Field/Lab Worker (01 Position)
- Duration: Initially for one year, continuing until project completion subject to performance and funds.
- Essential Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Agricultural Science, Biotechnology, or allied subjects.
- Alternative Qualification: Diploma in Engineering and Technology in Agricultural Science or Biotechnology.
- Emoluments: ₹20,000 per month plus HRA.

Project 2: Genome Editing in Barnyard Millet (GAP102)
