Role Summary & Key Responsibilities
In this Microbiology Job (or general Life Sciences role), you are accountable for the systematic management of biological specimens to prevent diagnostic errors.
- Sample Verification: Receive and cross-verify patient samples against Test Requisition Forms (TRFs), checking for correct barcodes, test codes, and sample types.
- LIS Operations: Perform high-speed, error-free data entry of patient information into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and generate accurate mapping for testing departments.
- Integrity Management: Sort and route samples to specific departments (Biochemistry, Hematology, etc.) while adhering to strict temperature and handling guidelines.
- Quality Compliance: Follow NABL and ISO 15189 protocols for documentation and maintain audit-ready logs for all daily sample rejections or discrepancies.
- Escalation & Support: Coordinate with logistics and phlebotomy teams to resolve missing information or request sample re-collections promptly.
Qualification & Preferred Profile

- Education: Must have a degree in Biotechnology, Microbiology, or Life Sciences.
