- Title: Summer Internship 2026
- Location: CSIR-CMERI, Durgapur, West Bengal
- Duration: Four (04) to eight (08) weeks during Summer Vacation (May to July of 2026)
Intake of Students: A total of 141 students (approx.) will be inducted as Summer Interns to meet the requirements of various ongoing projects within the Institute’s R&D Groups.
Fields include:
- Agricultural Engineering-06
- Biotechnology / Biochemical Engineering-03
- Other Engineering Disciplines
Eligibility Criteria:
- B.E./B.Tech. students studying in a recognized College/Institute/University are eligible for the Summer Internship programme. They must be completing their sixth (06) Semester by May/June 2026.
- The students must have passed the Class X and Class XII Board examinations with satisfactory marks, preferably securing First Division/Class. Additionally, they must have obtained a minimum of 60% aggregate marks up to the most recent semester completed in their B.E./B.Tech. programme.
Selection Process: The selection of interns will be based on eligibility criteria and merit-based overall assessment of the candidates.
Accommodation: The selected interns will have to make their own arrangement of stay during the internship. No accommodation will be provided by CSIR-CMERI, Durgapur.
When to Apply: Applications must reach the Head, Human Resource Management Group at CSIR–CMERI, Durgapur by March 31, 2026. The list of selected candidates (including wait-listed ones, if any) will be notified on the CSIR–CMERI website tentatively by the last week of April 2026.
Application Procedure:
- Applications are required to be submitted by post or by hand delivery. The envelope containing the application along with the other documents has to be superscribed as “Summer Internship Programme 2026 in … Engineering at CSIR–CMERI, Durgapur”.
- The following documents must be submitted by the students:
- Filled in Application Form – Summer Internship 2026 (As per enclosed format ANNEXURE–I)
- Original Recommendation Letter/No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued by the Head of the Institution/Department/Training and Placement Officer (TPO).
- Self-certified copies of mark sheets/grade cards/certificates of all examinations passed (starting from Class-X board exam).
Important Instructions:
- Only applications submitted with duly recommended forms by the college/university authorities will be considered.
- No phone call/email/personal query will be entertained. Students and their Guardians are requested not to contact over phone or visit personally regarding their applications and selections.
NB: The Director, CSIR–CMERI reserves the right to accept or reject any application for Summer Internship in any specific discipline, or increase/decrease the number of vacancies in any year due to internal reasons and ongoing programme/activities of the Institute. No further correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
