Position Details

  • Position Title: Project Research Scientist-I

  • Stipend & HRA: Rs. 56,000/- plus 20% HRA

Qualifications

  • Essential Qualification: Post Graduate (PG) Degree including the integrated PG degree in Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Lifesciences
  • Desirable Qualification/Experience: Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Life Sciences
  • Job Requirements: Biochemical analysis, Molecular Biology, Cell culture, Handling preclinical models, basic instrumentation techniques.

Tenure

The engagement is initially for a period up to one year and may be extendable up to two years based on the requirement or till the end of the project duration, whichever is earlier at CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru, Karnataka.

  3. Age Limit: Maximum 35 years as on 25 March 2026. Age relaxation: SC/ST/PwBD/Women – 5 years, OBC – 3 years.
  4. Qualification: Candidates must have completed required qualifications with declared results. Final semester/result awaited candidates not eligible.
  5. Experience: Counted after obtaining the minimum required qualification.
  6. Shortlisting: Candidates may be shortlisted based on marks, higher qualifications, desirable experience, or other criteria.
  7. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be listed on the **CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute website. No TA/DA will be provided.
  8. Selection: Based on interview performance; waitlist may be created as per CSIR rules.
  9. Nature of Position: Temporary project-based engagement, valid until project completion or maximum 6 years.
  10. No Permanent Claim: Engagement does not guarantee permanent employment in CSIR.
  11. For CSIR Project Staff: NOC from current PI and No Dues Certificate required before joining.
  12. Tenure Extension: Depends on performance, funding availability, and project requirements.
  13. Maximum Project Duration: Candidates who have already worked 6 years or more in CSIR projects are not eligible.
  14. Institute Rights: CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute may modify terms, change vacancies, or cancel the advertisement.
