Job Overview:
The Accessioning Officer role involves receiving, verifying, labeling, and entering patient samples into the Laboratory Information System (LIS). This position plays a crucial role in ensuring sample accuracy, smooth lab workflow, and compliance with diagnostic standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and verify patient samples and test requisition forms
- Ensure correct labeling and barcode mapping
- Perform accurate Sample Accessioning into LIS
- Maintain proper sample storage and routing
- Track missing or delayed samples and escalate issues
- Maintain logs of daily sample entries and discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with laboratory standards
- Support coordination between lab and logistics teams
- Assist in resolving sample-related issues
Educational Requirements:
- Biotechnology / Microbiology / Life Sciences
- 1+ year experience preferred in diagnostic labs
- Knowledge of LIS Operations and sample workflows
Skills Required:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Hands-on experience in Sample Accessioning
- Knowledge of LIS Operations systems
