Job Overview
In this Biomedical Engineering Job, you are the guardian of the “installed base”—the network of diagnostic instruments active in hospitals and labs.
- System Installation: Perform full-diligence installations and pre-checks to ensure systems perform optimally from day one.
- Preventive Maintenance (PM): Adhere strictly to service contract terms by conducting scheduled PMs and rapid breakdown responses.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Maintain a high level of engineering expertise across all relevant diagnostic systems and peripherals.
- Client Education: Explain caution and precautions to operators, ensuring they understand warranty terms and proper system usage.
- Software & Compliance: Execute all software updates and Field Correction Actions (FCAs) within strict timelines to ensure regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
The FSE role blends technical mastery with business acumen to ensure the sustainability of service operations.
- Service Budgeting: Achieve annual service budgets for spares and maintenance contracts through planned coverage and superior value demonstration.
- Inventory & Spares: Place timely orders for spare parts to minimize equipment downtime and manage the return of unused spares.
- Contract Coverage: Maximize the number of instruments covered under service contracts by actively promoting the value of bioMérieux service products.
- Financial Health: Proactively collect outstanding payments to maintain the Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) at or below budgeted levels.
- Documentation: Ensure 100% accuracy and timely submission of installation reports, service reports, and Instrument Cards with customer attestation.
