Call for Applications: Summer Training Program 2026
Training Program
The CSIR-CCMB Summer Training Program 2026 is not a classroom-based course. Selected trainees are placed directly in active research laboratories.
Training Structure
- Each student is assigned to a CCMB staff scientist as a mentor
- Execution of a short-term research project
- Lecture series on popular science topics, scientific ethics, good laboratory practices, and life science career opportunities
- Mandatory submission of a project report
- Poster presentation at the end of the program
The program is designed to provide real-time laboratory exposure and hands-on research training.
Research Flexibility
While the Statement of Purpose is considered, laboratory allotment depends on space availability. Selected candidates must be willing to work in any CCMB laboratory, regardless of stated research interest.
Eligibility Criteria
- M.Sc./ M.Tech: Students admitted in 2025 who have completed the first year.
- B.Tech: Students admitted in 2023 who have completed three years.
- Integrated B.Tech-M.Tech or B.Sc-M.Sc: Completed the 8th semester or four years.
- B.Sc in Biosciences (4-year program): Students admitted in 2023 who have completed three years.
- Note: 3 years B.Sc program students are not eligible.
Application Procedure
- Applications must be submitted online only.
- Applicants must upload an authorization letter from the Head of the Department (HOD) or Dean of their institution in the prescribed format for Summer Training Program 2026.
Selection Notification
- Names of selected candidates will be published on the CCMB website
- No individual email or postal communication will be sent
- Selected candidates must check the selection list and submit acceptance within the given timeline
Boarding/ Lodging
CCMB does not provide accommodation. Arrangements for stay have to be made by the students.
Important Points
- Applications must be submitted online only.
- The program duration is 60 days without breaks.
- Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Academic excellence and a Statement of Purpose (SOP) are key for selection.
- Selection chances are less than 10% due to high application volume.
- Institute’s decision is final; canvassing leads to disqualification.
- Authorization from the HOD/DEAN is mandatory.
