Summer Research Fellowship Programme Overview
The Summer Research Fellowship 2026 places selected students in active inStem laboratories for a structured 10-week research internship. Fellows work directly with inStem faculty members on defined research projects, developing experimental skills, scientific thinking, and research communication abilities essential for advanced research careers.

Programme Details:
Selected fellows under the Summer Research Fellowship 2026 will participate in the following structured components:
Orientation
- Fellows will receive an overview of inStem, its research ecosystem, and the BLiSC campus.
Laboratory Research
- Fellows will be placed with inStem faculty members.
- Each student will work on a defined laboratory research project.
Lecture Series
- Talks by eminent scientists on campus.
- Research seminars by scientists from other institutes in Bengaluru.
Final Presentations
- Fellows will present their research findings as short talks to the inStem campus at the end of the programme.
Completion Certificate

Eligible Students:
Applicants for the Summer Research Fellowship 2026 must be currently enrolled in one of the following programmes:
- B.Sc. (4-year): Completed 3rd year, entering 4th year
- B.Tech. (4-year): Completed 3rd year, entering 4th year
- M.Sc. / M.Tech.: Completed 1st year, entering 2nd year
- 5-year Integrated B.Sc.-M.Sc. / B.Tech.-M.Tech.: Completed 4th year, entering 5th year
Important Notes:
- Students must be currently enrolled in their degree programme.
- Candidates who complete their degree before the internship begins are not eligible.
- While life science students are the primary target, applicants from chemistry, physics, and mathematics are encouraged.
