Eligibility & Selection Criteria
Candidates must meet the following minimum institutional requirements for PhD Admission:
- Academic Performance: Minimum of 55% marks (or 5.5 CPI) in a postgraduate degree or a 4-year bachelor’s degree.
- Relaxation: For SC/ST/PwD candidates, the requirement is lowered to 50% marks (or 5.0 CPI).

Financial Support & Global Opportunities
IIT Gandhinagar offers one of the most comprehensive financial packages for doctoral students in India:
- Institute Fellowship:
- ₹37,000/- per month initially for candidates with NET/GATE or degrees from CFTIs/IITs/IISc/IISERs with a CPI of 8.0 or above.
- ₹42,000/- per month after the successful completion of two years.
- International Research Travel: Support of up to US $12,500 for doing research work at top universities/labs abroad for up to 6 months.
