Key Responsibilities
The Scientist Job will serve as the computational backbone of ARI’s genomics and Microbiology Job sectors, transforming raw sequencing data into biological insights.
- Data Interpretation: Assemble, align, and annotate complex datasets from plant and microbial genomes.
- Pipeline Development: Implement metagenomics pipelines, pathway enrichment analysis, and protein structure prediction models.
- Systems Biology: Bridge the gap in existing expertise by providing molecular dynamics simulations and systems biology modeling.
- Project Leadership: Support All India Coordinated Research Projects (Wheat, Soybean, Grape) by delivering high-quality NGS analysis and phylogenetic studies.
- Capacity Building: Train junior researchers and staff in advanced bioinformatics tools, fostering an interdisciplinary culture.
Position Details
Bioenergy/Scientist C/2026
- Category: One (1) Vacancy, UR (Unreserved).
- Essential Qualification: Ph.D. in Microbiology or Biochemical Engineering with a dedicated focus on bioenergy, plus five years of post-Ph.D. research and development experience.
- Desirable Experience: 3–5 years of industrial experience in microbial process development; proven expertise in bioreactor optimization; national/international patents in biofuel technology.
- Scale of Pay: Level-11 in the pay matrix Rs.67700-208700 plus allowance
- Age Limit: The upper age limit shall not exceed 40 years (as of the closing date).
Bioinformatics/Scientist B/2026
- Category: One (1) Vacancy reserved for SC (Scheduled Caste).
- Essential Qualification: Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or Biotechnology with three years of R&D experience.
- Desirable: Ph.D. in Bioinformatics; expertise in Python/R, NGS data analysis (RNA-Seq, DESeq2), and protein modeling.
- Scale of Pay: Level-10 in the pay matrix Rs. 56100-177500 plus allowances
- Age Limit: Maximum 35 years (as of the closing date). Relaxations apply for SC/ST/OBC and Government servants as per GOI norms.
