It is open to students of IIT Kanpur as well as students from other recognized academic institutions across the country. - SARIP 2026 Tentative Schedule: Internship Program: May 11, 2026 to July 10, 2026.
- Advertisement: Advertisement for SARIP-2026 Internship will be released on January 28, 2026.
- Registration: Opening of Online Registration Portal: February 02, 2026 (4:00 PM) till February 22, 2026.
- Fee Payment: Registration confirmation with the payment of administrative fees: March 23 to March 29, 2026
Eligibility & Application (SARIP) for this Internship Program:
Category 1: SARIP for Non-IIT Kanpur Students
Eligibility Criteria
- Students who are in the 4th year of a 5-year Dual Degree programme
- Students who are pursuing M.Sc / M.Tech / Any Postgraduate Degree programmes
- Applicants must have a minimum CPI of 6.0 (or 60%).
- CPI up to the last completed semester, as available at the time of application, will be taken into consideration
Documents to Keep Ready (for online application)
- Recent passport-size photograph (.jpg)
- Single PDF file containing all the required documents
- Transcript(s) / Marksheet(s) supporting the cumulative CPI obtained.
- Research proposal (not more than 500 words)
- Degree Marksheet and Degree Certificate
- Dual Degree students should upload the Transcript(s) / Marksheet(s) up to the 7th semester.
- Submission of one Letter of Recommendation (LOR) is mandatory to complete the registration process.
- If a faculty member does not wish to provide the recommendation letter directly to the student, they may also send the recommendation letter via email ([email protected])
- Violation of the above rules may result in rejection of the application.
Category 2: SARIP for IIT Kanpur Students
Eligibility Criteria
- Students who are in the 4th year of a 5-year Dual Degree programme
- Students of M.Sc / M.Tech / Any Postgraduate Degree programmes
- Applicants must have a minimum CPI of 5.5.
- CPI up to the last completed semester, as available at the time of application, will be taken into consideration

- Transcript(s) / Marksheet(s) supporting the cumulative CPI obtained.
- Research proposal (not more than 500 words)
- Degree Marksheet and Degree Certificate
- Dual Degree students should upload the Transcript(s) / Marksheet(s) up to the 7th semester.
Important Notes for this Internship Program:
- Letter of Recommendation (LOR) is not required for IITK participants. However, the names of two potential referees (IITK faculty) must be provided in the application form.
- IIT Kanpur students enrolled in Academic Summer Courses are generally not permitted to participate in SARIP.
- Students with CPI ≥ 8.5 may be allowed to undertake SARIP along with a summer course, subject to mentor consent.
- Violation of the above rules may result in rejection of the application..
