  • Project Title: Artificial synapses with Nanodust and Proteomics for Targeted Therapy in Neurodegenerative Diseases and Epilepsy

Essential Qualification

First Class Postgraduate Degree in Life Sciences/ Biochemistry/ Molecular Biology or related disciplines. Ph.D. in a relevant area of Molecular or Biochemical Sciences. Strong evidence of molecular and biochemical research expertise demonstrated through publications as first author or corresponding author.

Desirable Qualification

  • Experience in Yeast two-hybrid system
  • Molecular cloning and viral/plasmid transfection
  • Primary and secondary cell culture techniques
  • Co-immunoprecipitation (Co-IP)
  • ChIP-sequencing and related molecular assays
  • Strong research publications and relevant project experience

Nature of Work

Selected candidates will gain hands-on experience in: Synaptic physiology, Brain dissections and tissue handling, Primary neuronal cultures, Fluorescence imaging techniques, patch-clamp electrophysiology, and various molecular, biochemical, and histological techniques.

Emoluments

Rs.67000/- + 20% HRA Month

40 Years

Duration of Post

The initial appointment shall be for a period of six (06) months and may be extended in blocks of six (06) months for the duration of the project, subject to the satisfactory performance of the candidate and the availability of funds.

  • No TA/DA will be paid for attending the written test/interview.
  • Candidates currently working on Extramural/Intramural projects at NIMHANS must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their Principal Investigator.
  • The candidate should have scored a minimum of 50% in the written examination to qualify for the skill test/interview. For Direct Interview the candidate should score at least 50% Marks in the interview.
  • The Institute reserves the right to select a suitable candidate. Possession of the prescribed essential qualifications alone does not guarantee selection.
