Job Details:
- Title of the Project: Biochar-Assisted Remediation of Microplastic- Contaminated Soils: Mitigating Toxicity in Brassica juncea plants
- Research Area: Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India
- Principal Investigator: Dr. Sukhmeen Kaur Kohli, Assistant Professor, Department of Earth and Climate Sciences, IISER Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India
- Project Code: IISER-T
- Tenure: The position is temporary for one year, with an extension for six months after the performance review.
- Age: Not more than 35 years as of the closing date of the advertisement.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. degree in any area of environmental sciences or life sciences.
- Candidates who have submitted their thesis and are awaiting the award of a Ph.D. degree may also apply.
- Candidates should provide evidence of having conducted high-quality research during or after their Ph.D. program.
- Desirable qualities: Experience in environmental toxicological studies in plants and their amelioration with hands-on expertise in molecular techniques will be desirable.
Fellowship:
- Rs.58,000 /- p.m. + 9% HRA if the candidate produces the Ph.D. certificate.
- Rs.42,000 /- p.m. + 9% HRA – for those candidates whose Ph.D. degree is awaited.
- However, the candidate must produce a letter from a competent authority stating that the thesis has been submitted and the final viva/defense is pending. A nominal research grant will be available under this program.
