Position Details
THSTI is holding walk-in interviews for the following short-term contractual positions.
1. Research Associate-III (Project: INDIGO)
- Project: Effective and affordable flu vaccine for the world (INDIGO).
- PI: Dr. Sweety Samal.
- Date of Walk-in: 6th February 2026 (Reporting: 9:00 AM).
- Emoluments: ₹54,000 + HRA.
- Essential Qualification: Ph.D. in Biotechnology/Biochemistry with 2 years of post-qualification experience in bacterial and mammalian cell culture. Must have one first-author publication in a PubMed-indexed journal.
- Job Description:
- Expertise in recombinant protein expression and purification.
- Strong background in molecular biology and microbiology techniques
- Ability to independently design, execute, and analyze experiments
- Experience in data documentation and reporting.
2. Project Associate-II (Project: INSACOG – Wastewater Surveillance)
- Project: Wastewater Surveillance of SARS-CoV-2, Pathogens, and AMR through Genomics.
- PI: Dr. Bhabatosh Das.
- Date of Walk-in: 9th February 2026 (Reporting: 9:00 AM).
- Emoluments: ₹35,000 + HRA (for NET/GATE) or ₹28,000 + HRA (others).
- Essential Qualification: Master’s in Life Sciences with at least 2 years of post-qualification research experience.
- Job Description:
- Candidates should possess knowledge in genomics, proteomics, or metabolomics, and hands-on experience in microbial culture, maintenance, and related experimental techniques.
Key Responsibilities & Technical Skills
- Vaccine Development (INDIGO): Focus on recombinant protein expression, purification, and molecular biology techniques to design and execute vaccine-related experiments.
- Genomics & Surveillance (INSACOG): Handle microbial culture maintenance, genomics/proteomics/metabolomics techniques, and related data documentation.
- Data Management: Candidates are expected to analyze data independently, prepare high-quality research reports, and maintain meticulous lab records.
