PhD Research Focus Areas

Eligibility & Fellowship Requirements
To be considered for admission, applicants must meet the following academic and competitive benchmarks:
Essential Qualifications:

Degree: MSc/MTech in any area of Life Sciences, or an equivalent degree.

Marks: A minimum of 55% total marks (or equivalent score) in the qualifying degree. Note that a 5% relaxation is provided for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) and PWD candidates.
National-Level Exams:

Candidates must have qualified for a doctoral fellowship through national tests such as those conducted by UGC, CSIR, ICMR, DST (INSPIRE), or DBT.

Applicants who have qualified in GATE or other national-level exams are also eligible to be considered for admission under the NABI Core Grant.
Fellowship Details:

Most students are expected to bring their own fellowship from recognized granting agencies.

A limited number of merit-based NABI-Core fellowships may be offered to exceptional candidates who have qualified in GATE or other national exams but do not have an independent fellowship.
