1. Project Research Scientist- I (Non-medical) – 01 Position

  • Post code/ Area: 010226B – Microbiology, Biotechnology
  • Project Code/ Title: GAP0653 – A novel approach to target fungal morphogenesis in the human fungal pathogen Candida albicans as a potential antifungal therapy against fungal sepsis
  • Name of the PI: Dr. Sriram Varahan
  • Essential Qualification: Post-graduate degree in Biotechnology
  • Desirable: PhD degree in Biotechnology and post PhD experience of 2 years in relevant areas including biotechnology and microbiology.
  • Upper Age limit (years): 35
  • Monthly Emoluments: ₹ 56,000 + HRA (as applicable)
  • Duration of the project: 17th March 2028

2. Project Associate- I (PAT- I) – 01 Position

  • Post Code/Area: 020226B – Wild life ecology & conservation
  • Project Code/ Title: MLP156 – Discerning the Eastern Ghats for improving conservation outcomes
  • Name of the PI: Dr. Karthikeyan Vasudevan
  • Essential Qualification: Master’s degree in Life sciences/ wildlife science/ agriculture/ biotechnology with 55% aggregate marks
  • Desirable / Job description: Experience or demonstrable interest in wildlife research with skills in camera trapping, animal ecology and population studies, GIS-based analysis, acoustic monitoring and conservation biology
  • Upper Age limit (years): 35
  • Monthly Emoluments:
    • ₹31,000 + HRA (for NET/GATE qualified candidates)
    • ₹25,000 + HRA (for non-NET candidates)
  • Duration of the project: March 31, 2027

3. Project Associate- I (PAT- I) – 01 Position

Post Code/Area: 030226B – Wild life ecology & conservation

  • Project Code/ Title: MLP156 – Discerning the Eastern Ghats for improving conservation outcomes
  • Essential Qualification: Master’s degree in Life sciences/wildlife science/ agriculture/ biotechnology with 55% aggregate marks.
  • Desirable / Job description: Experience or demonstrable interest in cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, with skills in cell culturing techniques; work involves field visits for sample collection from different zoos in the country.
  • Name of the PI: Dr. Karthikeyan Vasudevan
  • Upper Age limit (years): 35
  • Monthly Emoluments:
    • ₹31,000 + HRA (for NET/GATE qualified candidates)

  • Essential Qualification: Master’s degree in Life sciences.
  • Desirable / Job description: Experience in Crystallography, Lipidomics, Yeast Cell Biology Transgenics, Biochemistry
  • Name of the PI: Dr. Rajan Sankaranarayanan
  • Upper Age limit (years): 35
  • Monthly Emoluments: ₹37,000 + HRA (for NET/GATE qualified candidates)
  • Duration of the project: May, 2028

  • Number of posts: Director, CCMB reserves the right to increase/decrease the number of positions and also cancel the recruitment process for the positions mentioned above at any stage of the recruitment process. The decision of the Director, CSIR-CCMB will be final and binding.
  • Age relaxation: Age relaxation as per CSIR/Govt. of India guidelines. Age will be calculated as on the last date of receipt of online applications.
  • Awaiting result/ Pursuing degree: Candidates still pursuing/ awaiting result for their degree M.Sc./ B.Tech./ PhD or any other qualification for the above post(s) as on the date of application will not be considered.
  • Eligibility criterion: Candidates should note that non-fulfillment of the eligibility criterion will result in cancellation of candidature at any stage.
  • Experience: The period of experience in a discipline / area of work, wherever prescribed, shall be counted after the date of acquiring the minimum prescribed educational qualifications for that post.
  • Screening of applications: The applicants will be subjected to short listing by CCMB scientists/ designated committee according to the current requirement and the candidate’s shortlisted for interview will be displayed on CCMB website.
  • Selection procedure: The candidate(s) shortlisted by CCMB scientists/ designated committee have to appear for interview in person/online before the Selection Committee. The date, time and venue of the test/interview will be notified in due course through email only.
  • Result / Panel for waitlisted candidate: Based upon the performance of candidates in the interview, result of selected candidates will be declared and posted on CCMB website. A panel of waitlisted candidates in order of merit will also be formed and valid for one year.
