Project Details

  • Project Title: Development of climate resilient chickpea and brassica by gene editing
  • PI: Dr. Naveen C. Bisht, Scientist VI, BRIC-NIPGR, New Delhi.
  • Project Funding: Gates Foundation

1. Research Associate-I (One Post)

  • Emoluments: ₹ 58,000/- plus 27% HRA per month
  • Qualification: Candidates with a Ph.D. degree in any branch of Biological/Life Sciences and fulfilling the norms/guidelines as per the DST OM No: DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022 dated 26/06/2023 are eligible. Preference will be given to those with an excellent publication record and prior experience in genetic transformation and gene editing in Brassica crops.

2. Senior Research Fellow (One Post)

  • Emoluments: ₹ 42,000/- plus 27% HRA per month
  • Qualification: Candidates having an M.Sc. degree or equivalent in Life Science/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology or any related field with two years of research experience are eligible. Candidates with CSIR-UGC NET/GATE/DST-INSPIRE and a minimum of 60% marks throughout their education, and experience in plant molecular biology and crop transformation will be preferred.

Terms and Conditions

The above positions are completely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The initial appointment will be for one year or until the project’s end, whichever is earlier, and may be extended based on performance. NIPGR reserves the right to select candidates based on qualifications and experience. The appointment may be terminated with a one-month notice by either party. These positions do not guarantee future employment at NIPGR.
