Job Details:
The Junior Research Fellow and Project Assistant positions are offered under DBT and Central Silk Board funded research projects focusing on biotechnology hubs, genomics, molecular biology, and sericulture-based integrated farming systems.
Position 1: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
- No. of Post: 01 (One)
- Project Code and Title: AIT05024EF – Advanced-Level Institutional Biotech Hubs at CSB-CMERTI Jorhat, Assam (Phase-II)
- Project Duration: Feb, 2023 to 20.08.2026 or till the completion of the project
- Funding Agency: Department of Biotechnology (DBT), New Delhi
- Required Qualification: 1st class M.Sc in any branch of Life Sciences from a UGC-recognized university.
- Desirable Qualification/Experiences: Candidates having specialization/working/teaching experience in biotechnology, genomics, and molecular biology will be preferred.
- Age Limit: 35 years (as on 1st Feb 2026)
- Emoluments:
- Rs.21,000.00 for candidates without NET/GATE + admissible HRA
- Rs.31,000.00 for candidates with NET/GATE + admissible HRA
Position 2: Lab/Project Assistant (PA)
- No. of Post: 01 (One)
- Project Code and Title: AIT05024EF – Advanced-Level Institutional Biotech Hubs at CMERTI-Jorhat Assam (Phase-II)
- Project Duration: Feb, 2023 to 20.08.2026 or till the completion of the project
- Funding Agency: Department of Biotechnology (DBT), New Delhi
- Required Qualification: 1st class B.Sc in any branch of Life Sciences from a UGC-recognized university.
- Desirable Qualification/Experiences: Post Graduate Diploma in sericulture
- Age Limit: 30 years (as on 1st Feb 2026)
- Emoluments:
- Rs.15,000.00 for candidates without PGDS (Fixed)
- Rs.20,000.00 for candidates with PGDS (Fixed)
Position 3: Project Assistant
- No. of Post: 01 (One)
- Project Code and Title: SPR-5026-SIC – Development of suitable Muga and Eri based Integrated Farming System (IFS) for North East India
- Project Duration: April 2024 to July 2026
- Funding Agency: Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India, Bangalore
- Required Qualification: Three/four years full time degree, especially in Sciences (B.Sc.) with relevant subjects Or Three/four years full time B.Sc. degree in the relevant subject and a PG Diploma in Sericulture.
- Desirable Qualification/Experiences: Candidates having specialization/working experience in sericulture or a relevant field will be preferred.
- Age Limit: 30 years (as on 1st Feb 2026)
- Stipend / Fellowship:
- Rs.15,000.00 for candidates without PGDS (Fixed)
- Rs.20,000.00 for candidates with PGDS (Fixed)
Interview Details:
Eligible candidates may appear for the interview with the following:
- Passport size photograph
- One self-attested photocopy each of certificates and marks sheets for educational qualifications from SSLC, PUC/ HSC, B. Sc, M. Sc
- Date of birth certificate
