Program Objectives:
- Enable young academic talent to collaborate with BITS Goa scientists for mutual learning
- Provide exposure to research processes and application of theory to practice
- Facilitate career path decisions and enhance academic/research profiles
Program Details:
Selected interns will participate in:
Orientation: Overview of BITS Goa campus and research environment
Laboratory Research
- Work on a defined project under the guidance of BITS Goa faculty
- Hands-on experience in experimental and theoretical methods
Lecture Series & Seminars
- Talks by eminent scientists from BITS Goa and other institutes
- Opportunity to engage with researchers across disciplines
Final Presentations
- Deliver a project seminar to faculty and peers at the end of the program
Evaluation & Certificate:
- Submission of project report and final seminar presentation required
- Certification provided upon satisfactory completion and supervisor endorsement
- Students cannot publish results without written permission from the project guide
Eligibility Criteria for this summer research program:
- Indian citizens pursuing UG/PG from recognized universities (India/Abroad)
- Students who have just completed UG/PG within six months of degree award may also apply
- Minimum 60% aggregate marks or CGPA 6.32/10 at all academic levels
- Disciplines encouraged: Engineering, Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences, Economics, Finance
- Preference to KVPY/DST INSPIRE fellows
- Selected students must adhere to campus rules and full program participation
How to Apply for this summer research program?
- Arrange a bonafide certificate from your college principal/Head of the department/Institute director and upload it while submitting your application online.
- Arrange a Letter of Recommendation from your HOD or your teacher. Students can send it at [email protected]
- Incomplete application will not be shortlisted for further processing.
Important Dates and Activities:
- Applications Open: 31 January 2026
- Applications Close: 10 March 2026
- The LOR can be sent by your HOD/Dean/Principal or your teacher at the email address [email protected] on or before 10 March 2026. The LOR should (preferably) be in pdf format and be named as XXX_BGSRP2026_LOR.pdf (where XXX = Candidate’s first name in Capital Letter).
- Applications received along with the bonafide certificates and the LOR will be considered for evaluation. Incomplete application will not be processed further.
- List of selected candidates will be uploaded on the BGSRP website by … (to be announced later)
- Selected candidates need to report to the BITS Goa campus in the 1st week of June 2026.
General Instructions:
- Final selection is decided by the concerned faculty based on eligibility and project requirements; selected students must report to the respective department at BITS Goa.
- Interns must complete the full duration, submit a certified project report, and deliver a final presentation to receive the completion certificate.
- No financial support, medical, or transport expenses are provided; hostel mess facilities are available on a paid basis.
- Students must follow all BITS Pilani Goa campus rules, carry temporary ID cards, and take prior permission for any absence to avoid termination.
- Project results cannot be published or used without written approval from the project supervisor and cannot be used for degree evaluation.
