Key Responsibilities & Functional Scope
The role serves as a technical bridge between product development and procurement, ensuring data integrity across internal systems like SAP and Product Vision.
- Specification Development: Leverage resources to create clear, accurate ingredient and packaging specs. You will uphold strict standards for Ingredients, Suppliers, and Third-Party partners.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams, including Product Development (PD), Food Safety (FS), Regulatory Affairs (RA), and Procurement, to ensure technical accuracy.
- Supplier Management: Act as the primary contact for external suppliers to gather data, manage questionnaires, and ensure alignment on specification details.
- Testing & Validation: For food and beverage specs, you will initiate material testing requests and validate quality parameters to ensure compliance.
- Packaging Oversight: Specifically for packaging, manage Individual Component Specification (ICS) reviews and supplier approvals prior to internal sign-off.
Qualifications & Experience
To be successful in this Food Science Job, candidates must possess a technical academic background and a keen eye for detail.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Food Chemistry, Microbiology, or Chemical Engineering.
Minimum Experience:
- 1–2 years of experience in Regulatory, QA/QC, or Food Analytical roles within the FMCG industry.
- Basic understanding of Microbiology and Food Safety is essential for formula and ingredient roles.
Technical & Soft Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to navigate complex ERP systems (SAP/Product Vision).
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects across different time zones.
- Fluent English communication skills (Oral and Written) for effective global stakeholder management.
