Scientist Job at NIPER | Life Sciences | Project Research Scientist | Apply Now
The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Hyderabad, has announced a high-impact Scientist Job for its Department of Biological Sciences. This NIPER recruitment is part of an ICMR-funded project aimed at developing advanced therapeutic strategies against drug-resistant TB. Applying for this Life Sciences Job offers researchers the opportunity to work under the mentorship of Dr. Nitin Pal Kalia, a leading expert in mycobacterial bioenergetics and infectious diseases.
About the Institute
NIPER Hyderabad is a “Centre of Excellence” in pharmaceutical sciences. It is equipped with cutting-edge infrastructure for drug discovery, including advanced animal houses and BSL-3 labs required for tuberculosis research. A Scientist Job here provides a prestigious platform for those aiming for a career in academic research or high-end pharmaceutical R&D.
About the Project
The research focuses on the “energy metabolism” of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Specifically, it investigates how disabling certain NADH dehydrogenases (enzymes responsible for cellular respiration) leads to synthetic lethality—a state where the bacteria cannot survive due to the simultaneous loss of essential metabolic pathways.
