Job Details:
The selected candidate will work on a SERB-DST-sponsored project titled “Do cognitive demands affect information processing along the transverse and longitudinal axes of area CA1 of the hippocampus?” The role involves hardware design, software development, neural implantation surgeries, electrophysiology recordings, behavioral experiments, and histological validation.
- Duration: 1 year (extendable till end of grant)
Educational Requirements:
- PhD in Neuroscience / Life Sciences (Candidates who have submitted their PhD thesis are also eligible.) OR
- ME/MTech with 3 years of research/design/development experience and at least one SCI-indexed publication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct neural recordings and behavioral experiments
- Perform implantation surgeries and histological analysis
- Design and manufacture experimental hardware
- Write software for experiment control and data analysis
- Analyze hippocampal network activity under cognitive demands
Skills Required:
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Programming experience (Python / C / C++ / MATLAB)
- Experience in neurophysiology or animal behavior research
- Ability to handle interdisciplinary research workflows
