Job Details:
IISER Pune is recruiting a Project Assistant on a temporary and contractual basis for the ANRF-funded project titled “Drivers of plant community assembly in a tropical savanna.” The role involves assisting with field and laboratory experiments, data handling, and field expeditions during monsoon seasons.

Educational Qualification:
- M.Sc. / B.Tech in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Bioengineering or related areas.
Preference:
- Prior experience of and interest in fieldwork, particularly in areas of plant ecology, is a must.
- Ability to spend long hours in the field during vegetation sapling in challenging field conditions.
- Experience of having handled / completed independent projects centred around savannas pis referred but not mandatory.
- Candidate comfortable with frequent travel within Maharashtra for fieldwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in ongoing field and laboratory experiments.
- Manage, plan and execute field expeditions during the monsoon for vegetation data collection.
- Assist in data cleaning, data entry, and general management of the laboratory.
Skills Required:
- Interest and prior exposure to the plant ecology fieldwork
- Ability to work long hours in challenging field conditions
- Comfort with frequent travel within Maharashtra
