Job Overview:
This associate job involves managing a portfolio of open-access life science journals under the Nature Portfolio npj brand. The role focuses on journal strategy, development, performance monitoring, and collaboration with editors, partner societies, and internal teams. These Life Sciences jobs play a key role in driving journal growth, maintaining editorial standards, and delivering an exceptional author and editor experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and grow open-access life science journals within the npj portfolio
- Manage relationships with Journal Partners, Editors-in-Chief, and Associate Editors
- Drive journal performance against submission, publication, and turnaround targets
- Monitor KPIs and oversee journal development and improvement plans
- Resolve editorial, ethical, and publication-related issues
- Collaborate with production, IT, marketing, sales, and finance teams
- Represent Springer Nature at external scientific and publishing meetings
- Identify industry trends and contribute to new journal and product proposals
Educational Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in Life Sciences
