Job Summary
MedGenome Labs Ltd. is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Genetic Counsellor to
join its clinical genomics team in Bangalore. This role is ideal for fresh postgraduates in
Human Genetics who are interested in patient interaction, clinical reporting, and genomic
diagnostics.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
• Provide genetic counselling to patients and clinicians
• Collect, document, and interpret patient clinical and family history
• Support clinical genomic test reporting and result interpretation
• Coordinate with laboratory, bioinformatics, and reporting teams
• Ensure accurate entry of phenotypic and clinical data in LIMS
• Assist in managing test turnaround time (TAT) and case follow-ups
• Communicate test results, limitations, and implications clearly to patients
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and regulatory standards
• Support internal audits, documentation, and quality processes
Required Skills & Competencies
• Strong knowledge of human genetics, inheritance patterns, and genetic disorders
• Understanding of NGS-based genetic testing
• Excellent communication and counselling skills
• Empathy and patient-centric approach
• Good documentation and reporting skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Candidate Profile
• M.Sc. in Human Genetics (mandatory)
• Freshers or candidates with up to 1 year of experience
• Internship or exposure to clinical genetics / diagnostic labs is an advantage
