Job Overview:
The Executive/Senior Executive – Upstream Process Development role is a full-time, on-site position based in Hyderabad. The role focuses on upstream development and manufacturing for biologics, covering mammalian and microbial systems. The executive will support process optimization, scale-up, technology transfer, and regulatory compliance while working closely with manufacturing, quality, regulatory, and supply chain teams.
Educational Requirements:
- B.Tech / M.Tech / MSc in Biotechnology or a related life science discipline
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead upstream process development for mammalian and microbial systems
- Design, optimize, and scale up bioprocesses from shake flask to 2000L+ bioreactors
- Support troubleshooting, process improvements, and deviation management
- Direct technology transfer to manufacturing units or external CMOs
- Collaborate with downstream processing, analytical development, QA, regulatory, and supply chain teams
- Support BLA filings, regulatory inspections, and audits
- Drive innovation through adoption of perfusion systems, single-use technologies, and PAT tools
Skills Required:
- Strong expertise in upstream bioprocessing and biologics manufacturing
- Hands-on experience in cell culture and fermentation processes
- Knowledge of cGMP operations and regulatory compliance
- Ability to manage scale-up and tech transfer activities
- Strong problem-solving, documentation, and collaboration skills
- Openness to advanced upstream technologies and process innovation
