Job Summary
Clevergene is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Research Associate – NGS & Molecular Biology to support molecular biology and next-generation sequencing (NGS) workflows. The role involves hands-on execution of nucleic acid isolation, NGS library preparation, sequencing, quality control, and close collaboration with technical teams to ensure high-quality, compliant laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and execute nucleic acid isolation (DNA/RNA) from various biological sample
types
• Perform NGS library preparation, sequencing runs, and associated quality control
procedures
• Conduct sample and library QC using appropriate instruments and methodologies
• Coordinate with technical team members to prioritize daily laboratory activities and
ensure timely project delivery
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of laboratory activities, experiments,
and results
• Prepare, review, and strictly adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in
compliance with quality and accreditation standards
• Ensure adherence to laboratory safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
• Optimize new assays and workflows; troubleshoot experimental and technical issues
• Provide technical inputs, insights, and feedback to continuously improve laboratory
services
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Life Sciences,
Genetics, or a related discipline
• Hands-on experience with NGS workflows, including sample preparation and library
construction
• Strong understanding of molecular biology techniques and laboratory best practices
• Familiarity with laboratory quality systems, documentation, and accreditation
requirements
Preferred Skills & Experience
• Experience working in an accredited laboratory environment (ISO / NABL / CAP /
CLIA preferred)
• Hands-on experience with Illumina or similar NGS sequencing platforms
• Ability to independently manage laboratory workflows and troubleshoot assays
• Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills
