Key Responsibilities & Clinical Operations
The Biomedical Engineer ensures that life-critical medical devices are consistently operational and safe for patient use.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily checks and execute preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules to minimize downtime. You will be responsible for attending to breakdown calls and coordinating with vendors for repairs under warranty.
- Asset Management: Assist in commissioning and tagging new equipment. Maintain accurate inventory records and manage documentation for equipment warranties and insurance claims.
- Safety & Quality: Support the implementation of ISO standards and hospital quality assurance policies. This includes documenting all equipment-related incidents and ensuring strict compliance with safety protocols.
- Training & Coordination: Conduct end-user training sessions for medical staff to ensure proper equipment handling. Collaborate with various departments to address specific equipment needs.
- Inventory & Cost Control: Maintain a minimum stock of essential spare parts, initiate requisitions, and manage the quality and usage of spares to support cost-control efforts.
Educational Qualifications
To be eligible for this role, candidates must possess a strong academic foundation in engineering as it relates to medical sciences and biomedical research:
- Education: A Bachelor’s Degree (B.E./B.Tech) or Master’s Degree (M.E./M.Tech) in Biomedical Engineering.
- Experience: 1–5 years of experience in a top-tier hospital.
