Vacancy Details and Qualifications (Biology / Serology) For Scientific Officer
The recruitment drive covers 17 tentative vacancies across three key roles in the Forensic Biology / Serology division: Scientific Officer, Scientific Assistant, and Laboratory Technician.
1. Scientific Officer (Biology / Serology)
- Vacancies: 3
- Scale of Pay: Rs. 45,960 – 1,24,150
- Essential Qualification (M.Sc.): Must have passed M.Sc. with a minimum 65% aggregate marks in one of the following subjects:
- Biology, Genetics, Zoology, Botany, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or Biochemistry.
- Forensic Science with specialization in Biology / Serology / DNA.
- Note: Candidates with a Post Graduation in Forensic Science or Bio-Chemistry must have studied Biology / Genetics / Microbiology / Serology / DNA / Zoology / Bio-Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Psychology at the Graduation level.
2. Scientific Assistant (Biology / Serology)
- Vacancies: 10
- Scale of Pay: Rs. 42,300 – 1,15,270
- Essential Qualification (M.Sc.): Must have passed M.Sc. with a minimum 60% aggregate marks in one of the following subjects:
- Biology, Zoology, Botany, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Genetics, or
- Forensic Science with Biology / Zoology / Serology / DNA / Botany / Micro-Biology / Biochemistry / Biotechnology as a specialized subject.
- Note: Similar to the Officer post, a PG in Forensic Science or Biochemistry requires studying relevant subjects (Biology/Genetics/etc) at the Graduation level.
3. Laboratory Technician (Biology / Serology)
- Vacancies: 4
- Scale of Pay: Rs. 24,280 – 72,850
- Essential Qualification (B.Sc.): Must have passed B.Sc. in one of the following subjects:
- Biology, Zoology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Botany, or Genetics.
- B.Sc. Forensic Science (Candidates must have passed Intermediate with Biology / Zoology / Botany as one of the subjects).
Eligibility Conditions For Scientific Officer Job
- Age Limit: Must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have attained the age of 34 years as on 1st July 2025. The upper age limit is relaxable by 12 years as per the Telangana Government G.O. Ms No. 30 (08-02-2024), plus further statutory relaxations.
