Job Overview:
This Project Scientist job is offered under the BIRAC-funded INSACOG project focusing on wastewater surveillance of SARS-CoV-2, emerging pathogens, and antimicrobial resistance using genomics-based methods. The position is temporary and co-terminus with the project under RGCB recruitment.
- Project title: Expansion of INSACOG—Wastewater Surveillance of SARS-CoV-2, Emerging Pathogens and Antimicrobial Resistance through Genomics-Based Methods
- PI: Dr. Radhakrishnan R Nair
- AGE: Below 35 years as of Dec 31 st, 2025. Age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India norms
- EMOLUMENT: ₹ 67,000/- + 18% HRA per month.
- DURATION: Initially for a period of one year or till termination of the project whichever is earlier, and extendable based on the performance evaluation.
Educational Requirements:
- PhD in Life Science with experience in Genomics (Essential)
- Minimum 2 years’ genomics research experience (Desirable)
Key Responsibilities:
- Genomics-based analysis of wastewater samples
- Surveillance of SARS-CoV-2 and emerging pathogens
- Antimicrobial resistance monitoring
- Data interpretation, reporting, and documentation
Skills Required:
- Strong genomics and molecular biology expertise
