Job Overview:

This Project Scientist job is offered under the BIRAC-funded INSACOG project focusing on wastewater surveillance of SARS-CoV-2, emerging pathogens, and antimicrobial resistance using genomics-based methods. The position is temporary and co-terminus with the project under RGCB recruitment.

  • Project title: Expansion of INSACOG—Wastewater Surveillance of SARS-CoV-2, Emerging Pathogens and Antimicrobial Resistance through Genomics-Based Methods
  • PI: Dr. Radhakrishnan R Nair
  • AGE: Below 35 years as of Dec 31 st, 2025. Age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India norms
  • EMOLUMENT: ₹ 67,000/- + 18% HRA per month.
  • DURATION: Initially for a period of one year or till termination of the project whichever is earlier, and extendable based on the performance evaluation.

Educational Requirements:

  • PhD in Life Science with experience in Genomics (Essential)
  • Minimum 2 years’ genomics research experience (Desirable)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Genomics-based analysis of wastewater samples
  • Surveillance of SARS-CoV-2 and emerging pathogens
  • Antimicrobial resistance monitoring
  • Data interpretation, reporting, and documentation

Skills Required:
