Positions and Project Details:
1. Junior Research Fellow (One Post)
Project Title: “Omics-based Interventions for Characterizing the Pearl Millet Genotypes for Rancidity and Development of Nutri-Rich Processed Products with Improved Bioavailability, and ShelfLife” (GCoE on Millets 12-258 TG3361)
Education: Post Graduate Degree (M. Sc.) in Plant Biochemistry/ Plant Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology/ Plant Physiology/ from a recognized institution with 4/5 years of Bachelor’s degree. Candidates having
3 years Bachelor’s degree and 2 years Master’s degree should have NET qualificationDesirable Experience: Experience in gene cloning and characterization, Heterologous expression of gene, basic biochemical techniques/ handling of instruments used in metabolomics, etc.
Fellowship: Rs. 31000/- per month + HRA@27% for 1st and 2nd year, Rs. 35,000/- per month + HRA@27% for 3rd year (as per ICAR norms)
Interview: 29th December 2025
2. Young Professional -II (YP-II) (One Post)

efficiency and grain quality in wheat under elevated carbon dioxide and heat stress for developing climate resilient wheat” (CABin Project – 21-56 TG3064)
Education: Post Graduate Degree (M. Sc.) in Plant Biochemistry/ Plant Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology/ Plant Physiology/ Environmental Science/ Bioinformatics.
Desirable Experience: Experience in basic molecular techniques/ biochemical techniques/ Omics data characterization/ gene cloning, etc.
Fellowship: Rs 42,000/- pm (consolidated)
Interview: 30th December 2025
Terms and Conditions for this Research Job:
- The above positions are purely temporary and will be filled on contractual basis. The posts are coterminus with the Project. Currently the Global CoE on millets project and CABin projects are approved up to 31.03.2026, but is likely to be extended further.
- Age limit: 35 years (Age relaxation of 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST/ women candidate as per govt. guidelines) as on the date of interview.
- The posts are purely temporary and will be filled on contractual basis initially for up to 31-03- 2026 or till completion of project whichever is earlier and may be extended periodically subject to performance of the candidate till the termination of the project.
- No objection Certificate (NOC) from the current employer is required, if working.
- Candidate should come for walk-in interview with two copies of application as per the format given in Annexure 1 along with a copy of biodata with dully attested certificates of 10th, 12th, Undergraduation, post-graduation, Ph.D. and NET/GATE and other certificates. Affix an attested recent passport size photograph in the Bio-data.
- The selected candidate will be required to produce all the original documents and medical certificate at the time of joining.
- No TA/DA/ any other expenses will be paid for attending the interview.
- Only the candidates having essential qualification would be entertained for the interview.
- The selected candidates shall not claim for regular appointments at this Institute as the post is coterminus with the respective projects.
- Concealing of facts or canvassing in any form shall lead to disqualification or termination. The candidate intending to attend the interview, if any of his near or distant relatives is an employee of the ICAR/IARI, has to declare his/her name, designation, nature of duties, relationship in writing.
- If on the date of the interview such declaration is furnished and found that his relative is an employee of ICAR/IARI, such candidate will not be allowed to appear in the interview.
- In case of any discrepancy, English version may be treated as final.
- IARI Recruitment retains the right to not select any candidate / scrap any of the positions even after interview
