Job Overview:
In the Research Associate job role, you will plan and execute laboratory and field studies to examine insect life cycles, population patterns, and their responses to insecticides and biological agents. You will support the development of integrated pest management (IPM) strategies for pests such as white grub and Spodoptera. The role involves identifying insect species, maintaining live insect cultures, and operating facilities like insectaries and growth chambers. You will also ensure regulatory compliance, prepare approval documents, maintain detailed records, compile study data, and assist in drafting scientific reports and technical submissions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and conduct laboratory and field experiments
- Study insect behavior, taxonomy, and response to pest management strategies
- Manage insect cultures and environmental chambers
- Compile detailed scientific reports and regulatory documents
- Collaborate with field teams to monitor agricultural experiments

Educational Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Agriculture, Entomology, or related life sciences
- Strong academic record; preference for candidates cleared CSIR UGC NET, GATE, or national-level selection exams
- 1–3 years of R&D experience in industrial, academic, or science & technology institutions
Skills Required:
- Expertise in insect handling, taxonomy, molecular techniques, and microscopy
- Proficiency in statistical data analysis
- Facility management of insectaries and environmental chambers
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Exposure to farmer field conditions is desirable
