Project & Position Details
The current project under the Himalayan Bioresource Mission aims to characterize ethnic fermented foods using advanced “omics” technologies to develop value-added functional foods.
- Project Title: Technological innovations for development of functional foods from ethnic fermented foods of the Indian Himalayas.
- Funding Agency: Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India.
- Location: Nalco Square, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
- Position: Research Associate-I (01 Position)
- Fellowship: Rs. 47,000/- + 16% HRA per month.
- Upper Age Limit: 40 years for male candidates; 45 years for female candidates (as of the application date).
- Tenure: Appointment will be valid until the end of the project.
Eligibility & Qualifications
To qualify for this research associate job, candidates must meet the following academic and technical standards:
- Essential Education: Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or allied subjects.
- Thesis Status: Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis and are awaiting viva voce may apply; however, they will receive an SRF fellowship until the thesis is defended.
- Core Competencies: Working knowledge of characterizing fermented foods using metagenomics and metabolomics studies.
- Publication Record: Mandatory First-author publication(s) specifically in the field of fermented food and/or probiotics.
- Desirable Experience: 1–2 years of post-PhD research experience.
