  • Number of posts: 01

Job Details:

  • Project title: “Investigating the influence of cytoskeletal regulators on the regenerative potential of cochlear sensory tissue.”
  • Fellowship:
    (i) ₹ 31,000/- + HRA for those who have qualified any of the national level examinations conducted by central government departments and their agencies and institutions (CSIR-UGC-NET, GATE, JGEEBILS, DBT / ICMR-JRF or similar).
    (ii) ₹ 25,000/- + HRA for those who do not fall under (i) above. No other allowances are applicable.
  • Age limit: Maximum 35 years (as on the last date of receipt of application)
  • Project Investigator:
    Assoc Prof. Vidhya Munnamalai, Scientist IV, NBRC
  • Tenure: Tenure will be for one year with potential extension till date of project completion. The post will be co-terminus with the close of project in 2028.
  • Accommodation: Accommodation may be provided as per rules of NBRC, subject to availability.
  • Application Fee: Application fee of Rs 200/- must be paid online and the receipt shall be attached with application.

This role focuses on understanding cellular and molecular processes associated with neurological and hearing functions.

Educational Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Natural Sciences, MVSc, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or Medicine
  • Minimum 60% marks
  • Additional eligibility for higher fellowship: CSIR-UGC-NET, GATE, JGEEBILS, DBT/ICMR-JRF, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct experiments related to cellular and molecular mechanisms
  • Perform mouse handling and basic genetics-based techniques
  • Maintain laboratory records and catalogs
  • Assist with dissections requiring fine motor skills
  • Optional advantage: experience in confocal microscopy

Skills Required:

  • Strong understanding of molecular biology
  • Mouse handling and genetics knowledge
  • Good record keeping and organizational skills
  • Precision in laboratory techniques
  • Ability to work in a research-intensive environment
