Job Details:
These Project Associate jobs are offered under a DBT-funded project focused on exploring marine ecosystems for novel bioresources with human health and industrial significance. The appointments are temporary and project-based under ILS recruitment.
- Project titled: “Exploring the marine ecosystems for novel bioresources with human health and industrial significance.”
- Project Duration: Up to 31/03/2026 with the possibility of extension
1) Senior Project Associate: Bioinformatics:
- Remuneration: Rs. 42,000/- per month + @18% HRA
- Upper age limit: 35 years
- Essential Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in natural/agricultural sciences or Medicine with four years of R&D experience
- PhD in Science/MS
A brief write-up (one page maximum) explaining bioinformatics research experience and publications (if any) should be submitted along with the application. Preference will be given to candidates who are qualified for national-level entrance tests (NET/GATE/GPAT).
2) Laboratory Technician:
- Remuneration: Rs. 20,000/- per month + @18% HRA
- Upper age limit: 50 years
- Essential Qualification: BSc / 3-year diploma in Science.
- Desired Qualification: Minimum 01 year of working experience in a biological/chemical laboratory and fieldwork.
All the positions are purely temporary and co-terminous with the project. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The director’s decision regarding the selection of candidates will be final, and no further correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bioinformatics analysis of marine biological data
- NGS data analysis, including metagenomics and amplicon sequencing
- Laboratory support for biological and chemical experiments
- Data documentation, reporting, and project support
Skills Required:
- Bioinformatics and data analysis skills
- Familiarity with NGS, proteomics, and mass spectrometry
- Programming knowledge in R (Bioconductor) and Python
- Laboratory handling and fieldwork experience
