Eligibility & Requirements

To qualify for this Project Associate job, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Essential Qualification: Post-Graduate degree (M.Sc.) with at least 55% marks in Life Sciences, Zoology, Wildlife Biology, Forestry, Environmental Sciences, or allied ecological disciplines.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in bird survey methods, sampling design, and familiarity with island ecosystem concepts.
  • Field Readiness: Willingness to reside in remote locations and travel extensively by both road and sea between islands.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English (writing/speaking) and Hindi (speaking).

Description of Work

  • Field Surveys: Conduct intensive research on endemic and tree-cavity nesting birds in the Nicobar Islands.
  • Data Analysis: Collate and analyze field data specific to island ecosystem dynamics.
  • Collaboration: Assist the Project Investigator (PI) and senior staff in achieving conservation goals and institutional milestones.

Monthly Emoluments

  • NET/GATE Qualified: ₹37,000 + HRA.
  • Non-NET/GATE Qualified: ₹30,000 + HRA.
