The following positions are open for walk-in interviews on January 12, 2026:

Area-I: Molecular Biology and Biotechnology

  • Position: Senior Project Associate (01 Post).
  • Project: Genome-editing for crop improvement (GE-Crop).
  • Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Botany, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or Biological Sciences with 3 years of research experience in molecular biology/plant tissue culture OR a Doctoral degree in Science.
  • Stipend: ₹42,000/- + HRA.
  • Age Limit: 40 Years.

Area-II: Plant Genetic Resources & Improvement

  • Position: Project Associate-I (01 Post).
  • Project: GWAS study of Cannabis chemotypes (NCP020307).
  • Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Botany, Biochemistry, Plant Biotechnology, or Plant Breeding and Genetics.
  • Stipend: * ₹31,000/- + HRA (for NET/GATE qualified candidates).
    • ₹25,000/- + HRA (for others).
  • Age Limit: 35 Years.

Desirable Skills

Candidates with the following expertise will have an advantage in this Project Associate job:

  • Molecular Biology: Proficiency in molecular biology techniques and plant tissue culture.
  • Bioinformatics: Knowledge of computational tools for biological data analysis.
  • Medicinal Plants: Knowledge of plant secondary metabolites and plant breeding, specifically in medicinal crops.

  • Reporting Time: Candidates should arrive one hour before the scheduled time for document verification.

Important Terms & Conditions

  • Tenure: Temporary and co-terminus with the project. Total tenure in CSIR projects cannot exceed 6 years (up to 7 years in specific cases).
  • Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST/PwBD/Women and 3 years for OBC candidates.
  • Travel: No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
