Key Responsibilities
- Case intake, and ensure all emails are triaged and actioned appropriately (tracked, forwarded, assigned to an alternate case processing team, acknowledged, archived)
- Works within the secured document repository to retrieve files specific to legal cases to perform intake activities
- Forwards emails to relevant stakeholders as per agreed conventions and ensures timely escalation of urgent communications
- Performs case intake activities including receipt of non-English source data, requesting and tracking service provider, registration, data entry, and documentation of individual case safety reports (ICSRs) from various sources (i.e., E2B, Gateway transmission, email, etc.) in accordance with Gilead SOPs and worldwide regulations
- Assists with case follow-up activities for applicable cases within the Global Safety Database
- May participate in projects (e.g., reconciliation of safety information) as needed
- Organizes workload to ensure compliance with internal processes to meet applicable internal and external reporting requirements for ICSR
- Ensures quality and accuracy of deliverables, and ensures deadlines are met appropriately
- Works independently, establishing work priorities and direction with minimal input
- May liaise with various internal and external groups (e.g., clinical, affiliate, vendors) as needed
- Remains current with relevant department SOPs, Work Practices, Manuals, and Business Enabling Documents
Minimum Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences with minimum 1 year experience in Pharmacovigilance or 2 years Clinical Development/Research (with adverse event experience)
Skills
- Basic understanding of medical/scientific terminology
- Excellent level of written and verbal English
- Excellent computer skills (e.g., Microsoft applications, etc.)
- Very high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent organization skills and ability to prioritize
- Data entry experience with a safety database experience preferred
- Excellent database and coding skills including ability to perform advance searches
- Argus trained/experienced
- Experience in identifying and following up for missing information
- Critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Ability to review, analyze and interpret complex/technical data to a high standard
