Key Responsibilities
- Sampling and testing of raw materials, finished products, in-process samples, stability samples, air, water, and swabs as per QC plans
- Daily monitoring and documentation of microbiology laboratory instruments and areas
- Autoclave sterilization, logbook maintenance, and validation using biological indicators
- Microbiological testing of compressed air, grease shells, lubrication oil, talc, filter bags, and gelatin
- Sampling and testing of primary packing materials and employee swabs
- Analysis, reporting, SAP entry, and preparation of Certificates of Analysis (COA)
- Investigation and CAPA for internal and external microbiological failures
- Preparation of microbiological trends for air and water monitoring
- Isolation, identification, and maintenance of microbial cultures
- Operation of Vitek 2 instrument to support multiple business units
- Growth promotion testing for all incoming media lots
- Calibration, validation, and qualification support for laboratory equipment
- Preparation and revision of microbiological SOPs and STPs
- Release of raw materials in the absence of the QC section in-charge
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical microbiology and QC practices
- Experience in environmental monitoring and GMP laboratories
- Understanding of ALCOA+ and GLP documentation
- Hands-on experience with autoclave validation and biological indicators
- Familiarity with Vitek 2 and microbial identification systems
